Bulldog Skincare to intro sustainable packaging

4/10/2019
More and more brands are becoming conscious of not just what goes into their products, but what they’re packaged in as well.

U.K. born Bulldog Skincare for Men is embracing the move towards sustainable packaging by introducing new tubes that are derived from the Brazilian sugarcane, which is a renewable resource that has minimum impact on food suppliers and biodiversity, the company said.

"We are extremely excited to bring this important breakthrough to market," Simon Duffy, the founder of Bulldog Skincare for Men, said. "The great thing about sugarcane plastic is that its properties are no different from traditional plastic materials, but its environmental impact is significantly better."

Created through a partnership with Brazilian company Braskem and U.K. tube manufacturer M&H Plastics, Bulldog developed its new packaging to help reduce the consumption of fossil fuel materials.

In addition, to create its new packaging, ethanol is extracted from the sugarcane plant instead of releasing carbon dioxide. For every 100 tons of sugarcane plastic produced, 309 tons of CO2 is taken out of the environment, the company said.

All of Bulldog’s products containing this new packaging will display a logo that specifies the amount of sugarcane plastic consumers can expect to find in that pack.

Bulldog Skincare for Men does not use artificial colors, synthetic fragrances or ingredients from animal sources in its products, and is certified Cruelty Free International.
