SOUTHLAKE, Texas — Natural hair care company MopTop announced two new products on Monday: MopTop Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner and MopTop Mongongo Oil. The company also announced a new partnership with national distributor United Natural Foods.
The co-wash is aimed at consumers who prefer not to use shampoo (“no poos”) or with extra-dry hair and is used instead of shapoo. Friction from rubbing the product in can moisturize without drying out hair, the company said. It can be used for wavy, curly or kinky second- or third-day hair. The Mongongo Oil uses the nutty mongongo to repair hear and strengthen it, adding shine and moisture. Though it doesn’t have thermal protection for flat ironing, it can be combined with leave-in products to regenerate or hydrate hair.
"Our Co-Wash and Mongongo Oil are great additions to our natural line and we're excited to bring these products to market," MopTop founder Kelly Foreman said. “The ‘no poos’ have been pretty vocal about having more options to freshen up their hair without drying it out, and our Co-Wash does just that. There has also been a demand for a finisher that could both add shine and manage frizzy ends. We're thrilled to give the people what they want.”
With its partnership with UNFI, MopTop’s products will now be sold in the distributor’s mid-Atlantic and northeast channels.
