Munafo named president of Beaute Prestige International USA
NEW YORK Beaute Prestige International USA has announced that, effective March 25, Nicholas Munafo will assume the role of president.
Munafo will succeed Louis Desazars, who left the company in February to head NARS Cosmetics.
Munafo has held several successive positions at Procter & Gamble’s prestige division, most recently as executive vice president of sales and marketing. In that role, Munafo was responsible for a wide portfolio of prestige fragrance brands including Burberry, Gucci, Escada and Dolce & Gabbana. Before joining P&G in 1998, he held the position of marketing manager of private label brands at Federated Department Stores.
Beaute Prestige International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Shiseido Cosmetics, was created in 1992 to augment Shiseido’s fragrance business with the development of new designer fragrance brands. In 2000, Beaute Prestige International USA was formed to reinforce the presence of these brands in the U.S. market.
