Shop and scan with Glamour Wall

3/8/2012

Glamour magazine, in cooperation with technology partners SpyderLynk and Buck, set up in New York City a shoppable wall stocked with beauty products that enabled consumers to buy items using their mobile phones.

The Glamour Apothecary Wall, located in New York’s Meatpacking District across from the Standard Hotel, was unveiled on Feb. 15 and was open through President’s Day weekend.

Leveraging SpyderLynk’s Snap-to-Buy technology, beauty mavens simply scanned 2-D bar codes with an app on their smartphone to instantly buy the product for home delivery. Mobile payments provider Buck powered the Snap-to-Buy technology.

A host of beauty companies, including C.O. Bigelow and Unilever, supplied the products.

In addition, Glamour and several of its advertisers featured “Buy it Now” SnapTags throughout the magazine’s March issue, allowing readers to also “Like” advertisers, score deals and instantly buy products.
