SymphonyIRI Group names president of Americas

CHICAGO — SymphonyIRI Group on Friday named Piyush Chaudhari president of the Americas. Chaudhari will report directly to Andrew Appel, SymphonyIRI’s president and CEO.


“With more than two decades of experience in client service, global operations and technology, Piyush is an excellent fit to elevate our strategic offerings with the goal of helping clients take maximum advantage of today’s market opportunities,” Appel said. “His proven track record as a business builder embodies SymphonyIRI’s core values of collaboration, client focus and client commitment.”



Chaudhari, who joined SymphonyIRI in 2012 as EVP strategy, will now take on responsibility for client insights, client service and pre-sales. Additionally, he will have responsibility for select, multinational and global clients. Chaudhari will focus on bringing SymphonyIRI’s strategy to life with clients, ensuring seamless integration of SymphonyIRI’s unique portfolio of assets and services to help clients achieve fundamentally enhanced performance and growth through new capabilities.


Before joining SymphonyIRI, Chaudhari was a member of Aon Hewitt's executive committee and helped set the firm's direction and areas of priority. During his six years with Aon, he held many roles, including leading various regional businesses, such as Canada, Europe, Middle East and Africa. He also held global roles, including guiding Aon Hewitt's global consulting businesses and thought leaders, and acting as COO for the consulting business. His primary area of client responsibility focused on multinational clients.


Prior to Aon Hewitt, Chaudhari served with McKinsey and Co., where he concentrated on technology and technology strategy. Trained as an engineer with multiple U.S. patents, Chaudhari also worked for many years at Motorola and IBM in product development and support before moving into consulting.


Chaudhari holds a master’s degree in business administration from Kellogg Graduate School of Management and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a board member of Metropolitan Family Services and Chicago Media Board and a member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
