Ben & Jerry’s Justice ReMix’d makes a comeback to inspire change

10/2/2020

Ben & Jerry’s is not holding back when it comes to its fight against systemic racism.

As a way to double down on its commitments to cause, the Burlington, Vt.-based company is bringing back a flavor with a campaign designed to inspire change.

Justice ReMix’d, the flavor making a comeback, contains a combination of cinnamon and chocolate ice cream, as well as cinnamon bun dough and fudge brownies.

Deployed with the message of inspiring young people to head out to the polls and vote in November, Ben & Jerry’s is looking to sweeten the deal by offering free waffle cones to those who pledge to vote for justice, the company said.

“Young people have the ability to determine the outcome of this election,” Chris Miller, the head of global activism strategy for Ben & Jerry’s said. “They represent 37% of US voters, the single largest group of eligible voters, and everything they care about is on the ballot — racial justice, access to healthcare, climate change, the economy, LGBTQ rights. There is so much at stake, and it’s not just at the top of the ticket. We’re working hard to encourage young people to make their vote their voice this November.”

Another way the company is looking to encourage voting? Its doors will be closing for the first time ever on Election Day, in order to inspire its own employees to vote, the company said.

“The number one reason people give for not voting is not having enough time,” Miller said. “People should not have to choose between their job and their civic duty, especially this year.  This election is just too important.”

Justice ReMix’d is available as a limited batch flavor at Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops, and at retail locations across the nation for the suggested retail price of $4.99.
