BJ’s Wholesale club donates gas, tires to Council on Aging

2/19/2020

BJ’s Wholesale Club is making a one-year donation of gas and tires to the Council on Aging in West Florida.

The organization helps provide vulnerable seniors in rural areas with such critical services as daily nutritious meals in at least 20 senior dining sites in the two-county area, the company said.

“At BJ’s, we’re dedicated to nourishing our communities by providing access to basic essentials, such as fresh, nutritious meals,” Tom Condon, general manager at BJ’s Wholesale Club in Pensacola, Fla., said. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Council on Aging of West Florida to help provide critical resources, such as fuel and tires, that will help our neighbors in need.”

Aimed to help the community, the donation also celebrates the opening of the newest BJ’s Gas location in Pensacola, which opened on Feb. 13.

“At Council on Aging of West Florida, we’re dedicated to helping local seniors live a healthy, independent and safe life in familiar surroundings,” Josh Newby, marketing communications director at the Council on Aging of West Florida, said. “BJ’s donation of gas and tires will help us reach even more people, and we’re thrilled to welcome them into our community.”
