Banza is looking to continue to change the way consumers not only think about but also consume chickpeas.
The brand, best known for its line of chickpea pasta, announced the launch of its new chickpea rice product.
Available in chickpea and tricolor legume, which features a mix of chickpea, red lentil and green pea rice, the product contains more protein, fewer net carbs and fiber than brown rice, and is naturally gluten-free, the company said.
"Similar to what we did in pasta, we're excited to upgrade an equally popular staple food," Brian Rudolph, co-founder and CEO of Banza, said. "We're so grateful for Whole Foods' partnership in helping us bring a more nutritious rice to more people."
Shoppers can find Banza’s line of chickpea rice in the rice and grains aisle of Whole Foods Market locations across the nation. The brand's 17 other SKU's, also currently available for purchase, include two new seasonal mac and cheese varieties — Shells & White Cheddar and Cacio e Pepe — and a variety of additional pasta offerings. Further information on the company's products, and a store locator to find the nearest location selling its offerings, can be found on the brand's website.
