Bonduelle offers a new spin on heated lunches

5/3/2019
Bonduelle wants to put a new spin on boring old lunches.

To do so, the Irwindale, Calif.-based company is introducing consumers to its new Heat & Eat Harvest Bowls, which contains a mix of vegetables, meats, grains and sauces.

Available in four varieties — chipotle chicken, basil pesto with turkey meatballs, Moroccan inspired chicken, and Korean inspired beef — each bowl offers 13 to 19 g of protein and has 280 to 410 calories.

"Consumers today want lunch options that are fresh, delicious, filling and convenient. In fact, 55% of U.S. consumers said they were looking for quick and easy meal options2," Bonduelle Fresh Americas executive chef, Jeff Haines said. "This unique new hot lunch option features high-quality meat proteins, fresh veggies and healthful grains all combined with delicious globally-inspired sauces for a quick, satisfying lunch in less than three minutes."

In addition, Bonduelle’s Harvest Bowls are free of artificial preservatives, sweeteners, flavors and colors from artificial sources. Ingredients are also kept separate to ensure freshness, texture, crunch and personalization, the company said.

Shoppers can find the Bonduelle Heat & Eat Harvest Bowls in the produce aisle of select retailers in California; Portland, Ore.; Arizona, New Jersey and parts of Nevada, Utah and New Mexico.

Each bowl retails for $4.99 each, and the company plans to expand distribution nationally later this year.
