BrandStorm debuts Wasabi-covered Goji berries at Winter Fancy Food Show
LOS ANGELES BrandStorm on Monday introduced a unique healthy snack, Himalania Wasabi-covered Goji berries, during the Winter Fancy Food Show at the San Diego Convention Center. The combination of dried Goji berries and the hot crunch of the wasabi coating creates a distinctive snack that is sweet and spicy while being 100 percent natural with no artificial color.
“This product is a wonderful complement to the sweeter treats in the Himalania covered Goji berry line, which includes dark chocolate, milk chocolate and yogurt,” said Thierry Ollivier, chief executive officer of BrandStorm.
The snack combines the health benefits of wasabi, which has antibiotic and antimicrobial properties, with Goji berries, which are becoming widely recognized in the West as a nutrient-dense “superfood.” Wasabi also is said to include anti-coagulants and help with asthma relief. Goji berries are rich in high-potency antioxidant vitamin C, beta carotene, B vitamins, amino acids, potassium, protein and polysaccharides.
Himalania Wasabi-covered Goji berries sell at a suggested retail price starting at $5.99 and are available exclusively at Whole Foods Markets, with a broader launch in select natural, organic and specialty foods markets throughout North America to follow in February.
