Califia Farms is expanding beyond its signature line of almond milk into the world of dairy-free yogurt drinks. The Los Angeles-based company announced the launch of its new product, made with the Califia Culture Blend.
The newly unveiled yogurt drinks contain 10 billion live, active probiotic CFUs powered by BB-12 — a highly documented Bifidobacterium — and it is the first time the strain will be featured in a non-dairy yogurt, the company said.
Yogurt Drinks will be available in multi serve and single-serve packs and come in four options — strawberry, super berry, mango and unsweetened plain — which are all low in sugar and flavored with real fruit.
"Increasingly, consumers are realizing the importance of probiotics because of their enormous digestive and immune health benefits," Greg Steltenpohl, CEO of Califia Farms, said. "And until now, there hasn't been a non-dairy yogurt that delivers the delicious taste and creamy texture people want. At Califia, we've set the gold standard for nut milks and creamers, and were able to create an almond and coconut-based Yogurt Drink that delivers 10 billion live, active probiotics that are truly great tasting."
Califia Farms' yogurt drinks will be available in its signature curvy bottle in two sizes, an 8-oz. bottle, which will retail for $2.69 and a 25.4-oz. size for $5.49.
