Cece’s Veggie launches butternut squash shells and cheese line

11/20/2018
Cece’s Veggie is shaking up the food category by unveiling its new line of shells and cheese, which is made from organic butternut squash.

The Austin, Texas-based company’s remake of mac and cheese is gluten-free, made with 100% organic butternut squash that’s cute into elbow-style shells, and comes in a dairy-based and vegan cheddar cheese option.

"Delivering a full serving of veggie nutrition in every bowl, Cece's Butternut Shells & Cheese is a game-changer for busy families looking for healthy, organic meal solutions that taste delicious," said Mason Arnold, founder of Cece's Veggie Co. "Anyone who has kids is going to jump for joy when they try the butternut shells. They check all the boxes – healthy, easy and kiddo-approved. My own kids helped with product development, and they can't get enough of them. It really is easy being cheesy," he said.

In addition, the brand also will launch a ready-to-eat veggie meal that will feature its organic zucchini spirals paired with marinara sauce.

"We always tout that Cece's is your own personal sous chef because we're doing the time-consuming veggie prep and clean up for you with our spiralized and riced veggie options. With our ready-to-eat zucchini marinara, you can now toss that sad desk salad or have a stellar side ready to go in two minutes or less," Arnold said.

Both the shells and cheese and zucchini marinara options, which can serve two people as an entrée or four people as a side, carry a suggested retail price of $5.99.

The brand’s products can be found at such retailers as Whole Foods Market, Sprouts and select regional retailers.
