There’s a new way to enjoy the taste of Dos Equis cerveza.
The White Plains, N.Y.-based company, which is part of the Heineken family of brands, announced the launch of its new Mexican Pale Ale, or XX MPA.
Featuring all the complexities of a pale ale, the beverage has a lighter finish, and also is inspired by the flavors of Mexico, the company said.
"Our MPA has the complexity and depth of flavor beer drinkers would expect from a pale ale, but without being over-hopped or heavy," Lindsay Certilman, the brand manager at Dos Equis said. "Mexican cervezas are known for being light and sessionable, and we took that same approach to this surprisingly refreshing take on a traditional ale."
Brewed with fragrant citrus hops and a hint of heat that not only is a brand secret, but also has been compared to the tears of fire ants and magma farmed from Mexican volcanos, the beverage has a 5.5% ABV and 30 IBU, the company said.
As all Dos Equis packaging, the Mexican Pale Ale will feature Aztec ruler Moctezuma and will be available in at all bars, taverns, restaurant and retail locations in cans and bottles throughout Texas and New Mexico.
