Mars Wrigley Confectionery, the parent company of such brands as Snickers, Twix and Skittles, is adding gelato twist to its line of Dove chocolate and ice cream bars.
The Hackettstown, N.J.-based brand announced the launch of the new Dove Gelato Bars, which come in two varieties — salted caramel and triple chocolate.
For fans of salted caramel, this option contains a salted caramel gelato base with dark chocolate and butter toffee crisp cloak. Triple chocolate, on the other hand, features chocolate gelato coated in Dove dark chocolate and chocolate cookie bits.
"The new Dove Gelato line offers our consumers a new way to indulge this summer," the marketing director of Mars Ice Cream, Emily Strobel said. "We wanted to leverage the premium ice cream trend to bring a smoother, creamier taste and refined twist to our classic frozen ice cream bars without losing the rich Dove Chocolate flavor consumers know and love."
Shoppers can find Dove Gelato salted caramel and triple chocolate varieties nationwide at convenience, drug, mass and grocery stores in a three-pack box for a suggested retail price of $4.79.
Further information on the ice cream bars and additional offerings from Dove, can be found on the company's website.
