ST. LOUIS — Extend Nutrition announced the release of its new sugar- and gluten-free protein bars, which are available in Cookies & Cream and Chocolate & Caramel varieties. The product is currently available at
ExtendBar.com and will hit retail shelves later this year, the company said. The bars are sweetened with stevia and pack 10 g of protein and 130 to 140 calories.
“Many popular protein bars that are marketed to health-conscious consumers are actually loaded with sugar and fat, in an attempt to taste good. Amazingly, our R&D team developed a bar that not only has superior nutrition, but has an unbeatable taste,” said Jonathan Lindberg, the company's outreach manager.
The Chocolate & Caramel flavor offers a layer of chocolate nougat, topped with caramel and sugar-free chocolate. Cookies & Cream delivers cookie-dough flavored nougat, which is topped with cream and dipped in sugar-free chocolate. Both varieties are available in packs of 15 for a manufacturers suggested retail price of $23.99.
Extend Nutrition is the only company with a sugar-free and gluten-free protein bar that is clinically proven to help control blood sugar for six to nine hours, the company stated. In addition to its new bars, Extend offers a number of health-conscious choices, including snacks and shake mixes.
“We have always been committed to helping people take small, simple steps to healthier living, and now we are making it easier and tastier than ever with our new products” said company president Kevin Dalrymple.
