Friendly’s launches Cake Singles ice cream
Fans of Friendly’s cakes now have something new to reach for in the freezer aisle.
The Dallas-based chain, which part of the Dean Foods portfolio, announced that it would be launching Cake Singles.
"With Friendly's Cake Singles, we saw an opportunity to use the same great flavor combinations that consumers have loved for years and deliver on their desire for more variety and convenience in their sweet treats," Mark Schneider, the marketing director of ice cream at Dean Foods said. "Over the years, we've received requests to sell ice cream cakes by the slice and with this innovation, we're delivering on that desire without compromising the taste or quality our customers expect from Friendly's. The single-serving cups guarantee there's something for everyone and allow customers to enjoy their favorites any time."
Made with the same ingredients as Friendly’s cakes, the 8.5-oz. cups are available in four flavors:
Friendly’s Cake Singles can be found at Walmart locations throughout the nation in a freezer within the bakery department. A store locator also is available on the company’s website.

Made with the same ingredients as Friendly’s cakes, the 8.5-oz. cups are available in four flavors:
- Strawberry Krunch, which contain layers of strawberry and vanilla ice cream, strawberry éclair crunchies, strawberry sauce and a whipped topping;
- Birthday Cake, which has vanilla and chocolate ice creams, chocolate éclair crunchies, blue icing, whipping topping and colorful confetti;
- Chocolate Krunch, which features vanilla and chocolate ice creams, chocolate éclair crunchies, Friendly’s fudge sauce, and a whipped topping; and
- Strawberry Cheesecake, which has cheesecake flavored and strawberry ice creams, graham crunchies, a graham cracker crust and a whipped topping.
