Frito-Lay intros Flavor Shots, a poppable snack
Poppable snacks with an intense flavor and crunch were the motives behind Frito Lay’s new innovation.
The Plano, Texas-based division, part of the PepsiCo family of brands, is introducing consumers to its new Flavor Shots collection — snacks in ready-to-go packaging — that signal the return of a highly-demanded variety and provide snack lovers with a quick flavor boost.
Flavor Shots’ product line will include Cheetos Flamin’ Hot Asteroids, Doritos Fiery Habanero Triangles, Doritos Nacho Cheese Nuts and Doritos Flamin’ Hot Nacho Cheese Nuts.
"For over 10 years, fans have overwhelmingly asked for Cheetos Asteroids to return to store shelves," Fauzia Haq, senior director of marketing at Frito-Lay North America, said. "The consumer demand could not be ignored, and we're thrilled to relaunch Cheetos Asteroids, alongside three bold Doritos flavors."
The product line features the Doritos Flavor Shots Nacho Cheese Nuts and Flamin' Hot Nacho Cheese Nuts snacks in 1.75 oz. bags, the Doritos Flavor Shots Fiery Habanero Triangles in 1.375 oz. bags, and the Cheetos Flavor Shots Flamin' Hot Asteroids packaged in 1.25 oz. bags. The snacks, found on store shelves nationwide, retail for the suggested price of $1.19.
