Fulton Innovation unveils eCoupled

LAS VEGAS — A company that develops wireless power technology is bringing that technology to consumer packaging.


At the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this month at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Fulton Innovation unveiled eCoupled intelligent wireless power, demonstrating it in a number of applications, including an electric car.


But the company also showed how consumables can use the technology. One product was a soup container that can heat up without the aid of a stove or microwave. There also were cereal boxes that could transmit nutritional information, quantities, expiration dates and other information to a computer or mobile phone, and had printed coils that caused the logos and pictures on the front to illuminate.
