Gourmet-within-a-store: Giant-Carlisle to debut in-store Di Bruno Bros. cheese shop

1/17/2013

CARLISLE, Pa. — Ahold banner Giant Food Stores is opening a cheese and specialty food store in central Pennsylvania, the supermarket chain said.

Giant — also known as Giant-Carlisle to distinguish it from fellow Ahold chain Giant Foods of Landover, Md. — said it had a deal with Philadelphia-based Di Bruno Bros. to open the store inside the Giant Super Food Store in Camp Hill, Pa. The new store-within-a-store will open on Jan. 24.

"We are thrilled to welcome the celebrated Di Bruno Bros. to our Camp Hill Super Store," Giant Food Stores president Rick Herring said. "By partnering with Di Bruno Bros., we'll be introducing our customers to an amazing variety of high-quality, innovative specialty foods and products from Philadelphia's authentic cheese experts."

The shop will feature more than 100 varieties of homemade, national and international cheeses and nearly 60 cured meats and antipasti, as well as crackers, jams, jellies, oils and sauces.

"While we have grown significantly within the Philadelphia market, we are excited to expand our business and the Di Bruno Bros. legacy into central Pennsylvania," Di Bruno Bros. president Bill Mignucci said. "This partnership will allow us to share our spirit of culinary pioneering with Giant customers so that they too can enjoy the vast world of cheese and the numerous accompaniments available to create delicious and interesting pairings every day."
