There’s a new way to indulge in both ketchup and vegetables.
Heinz is looking to add a blend of veggies to its line of the popular condiment with the launch of its new tomato ketchup with a blend of veggies.
Made with carrots and butternut squash, the ketchup doesn’t compromise taste consumers and the picky eaters in their households have grown to love, the company said.
“If we were going to add extra veggies to a new recipe, it was important to maintain the same distinctive taste, appearance and texture that have been loved by generations of families for 150 years,” Dalia Adler, the associate director of marketing for the Heinz brand, said. “We went through countless recipes to land on the perfect blend and can’t wait to share the end result: a blend that we think will have your ketchup-loving, veggie-hating kids asking for more.”
The Tomato Ketchup with a Blend of Veggies contains 25% added vegetables, 25% less sugar than its regular tomato ketchup, and is made without the use of high-fructose corn syrup, the company said.
Available at select retailers and online at Amazon and Walmart.com, Heinz’s latest innovation can be purchased in 20-oz. or 31-oz. squeeze bottles.
