Klondike taps Anna Faris to revamp classic campaign

4/18/2019
Klondike is once again asking consumers — “What Would You Do For a Klondike Bar?”

The Englewood Cliffs, N.J.-based company is bringing back its classic tagline and campaign with the help of actress Anna Faris, who helped give real insight as to what real people were willing to do for the brand’s ice cream bar.

"I spent my childhood annoying my parents singing the famous Klondike question," Faris said. "And they were right—it turns out I can't sing. But I loved Klondike bars then and I love them now."

Working with director Jeff Tremaine, who also is the co-creator of Jackass, the campaign features a series of videos that star Faris, who goes undercover to pull off elaborate hidden-camera stunts that put the iconic question to the test, the company said.

"Klondike has always been known for being playful and humorous, especially around our iconic jingle," Russel Lilly, the marketing director of ice cream at Unilever, said. "This year, we decided it was the right time to re-imagine our advertising campaign — we wanted to be spontaneous and see what ice creams fans would do to show their love for the Klondike Bar. The results were beyond what we could've imagined and Anna Faris was the perfect partner to pull it off."

In addition, the ice cream brand also is introducing two new flavors to its Minis line of snack-sized bars — double chocolate and mint chocolate.

Both new additions can be found in the Minis 12-count packs, which retails for $5.29.
