There’s a new addition to the ever-growing M&M’s portfolio of candy.
The Hackettstown, N.J.-based company, which is part of the Mars family of brands, is introducing the new M&M’s Hazelnut Spread Chocolate Candies.
"Chocolatey hazelnut spread unlocks a side of indulgence that's all its own, so we wanted to tap into that mania and bring something to life that our fans would go crazy for," Allison Miazga-Bedrick, the brand director at M&M's, said. "It's no secret people love hazelnut spread and love M&M's, so we can't wait to see the reaction to this breakthrough taste experience."
Featuring a hazelnut spread center that’s covered in milk chocolate, the launch will become a permanent addition to the brand’s lineup of products.
Before hitting shelves in April, the brand is giving its passionate fans to sample the candy by showing off their hazelnutty-ness, the company said.
To do so, M&M’s is opening a one-day-only stand in the middle of New York City’s Grand Central Terminal that will allow fans the chance to express their excitement in exchange for a bag of the new product.
The “Go Hazlenutty for M&M’s Hazelnut Spread” stand will open on March 30 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall. For those who aren’t able to attend, the brand is encouraging fans to share their passionate posts on Twitter by using the #gohazelnutty and #MMsfirsttaste hashtag for a chance to have an exclusive pack of the candy delivered directly to their home within hours.
Shoppers can find M&M’s Hazelnut Spread Chocolate Candies on the shelves of retail stores nationwide beginning in April in a single, share size and sharing size stand up pouch.
