Nestlé Toll House is putting a premium spin on its chocolate chips for baking.
The Artisan Collection by Nestlé Toll House contains single-origin chocolate from Ghana, and is available in two varieties — extra semi-sweet and extra dark.
Extra semi-sweet contains 48% cacao, while extra dark has 61% cacao. Both products use cacao that is rich in chocolate flavor, roasted notes and pairs well with cinnamon, speculoos, maple, honey, caramel, almonds and walnuts, the company said.
“Cocoa beans are the top agricultural export from Ghana, its rich soil is ideal for growing the intensely aromatic cocoa that is captured in these new premium baking chips,” Ruth Braden, the associate marketing manager for Nestlé Toll House said. “Made with chocolate sourced from a single origin delivers a premium chocolate to the Nestlé Toll House portfolio.”
Through a partnership with UTZ Code of Conduct, the Arlington, Va.-based company supports sustainable farming, better farming methods and working conditions, as well as better care for nature and future generations, the company said.
Shoppers can find the Artisan Collection by Nestlé Toll House in the baking aisle of national and select regional grocery chains across the nation retailing for $3.69 each. The product can able be purchased on the company's website.
