Organic Valley Ultra hits the dairy aisle

7/25/2019
Organic Valley, a company that creates a range of organic dairy, eggs, meat and produce, is expanding its offerings.

The La Farge, Wis.-based company unveiled its new Organic Valley Utra, which is an organic, ultra-filtered milk offering that is produced without toxic pesticides or artificial growth hormones.

"At Organic Valley, we're always creating innovative ways to give consumers high-quality, great-tasting organic options that meet their needs for healthy food from companies that align with their values," Bob Kirchoff, the CEO of Organic Valley said. "Not only does Organic Valley Ultra provide consumers with an organic, ultra-filtered product they can feel good about buying and consuming, it ensures we can support our cooperative's mission to save small family farms by marketing their organic products. It also further affirms our commitment to ensuring that all of our animals live happy, stress-free lives."

To develop its milk, Organic Valley Ultra begins by using USDA Certified organic milk from the cooperative’s pasture-raised cows. Then, during the filtering process, the naturally occluding sugar-lactose in the milk is reduced, and the addition of a lactase enzyme makes it lactose-free, the company said.

Shoppers can find the product retailing for $5.99 at Whole Foods Markets across the country, where it is available in four 56-oz. options — whole, 2% reduced fat, 2% chocolate and skim.

The product will hit other retail locations across the county beginning in October.
