Planters brings back Cheez Balls permanently
After giving its Cheez Ball a limited run, Planters announced that the snack is here to stay.
To celebrate the new permanent addition, Mr. Peanut is giving lucky fans shakers filled 3 oz. of Cheez Balls Cheez Powder, which can be added to any food or snack, the company said.
“After seeing fans’ excitement last year when Cheez Balls returned, we knew we had to find a way for Cheez Balls to stay,” Samantha Hess, the brand manager for Planters said. “To celebrate Cheez Balls being back, we’re giving fans more of the iconic flavor they’re obsessed with so they can enjoy the cheezy flavor on any food.”
Those who wish to get their hands on a shaker have to tweet @MrPeanut with the food they’d use the Cheez Powder on with the hashtag #CheezBallContest until Sept. 1.
In addition to the social media contest, those in New York City will have the opportunity to taste a Cheez Powder-filled menu thanks to the Made from Scratch food truck.
Together, the companies will be collaborating with chef and restaurateur Richard Blais on a menu that includes Mac & Cheez Powder Poppers and Gooey Gouda Grilled Cheez, the company said.
Fans will be able to try the menu and get their hands on a can of Cheez Balls on Aug. 21 from 11 A.M. to 7 P.M. at Astor Place in New York City.
Shoppers can find Planters’ Cheez Balls in 2.75-oz. canisters at grocery stores nationwide and online for the suggested retail price of $2.49.
