Safe + Fair Food intros Pea Protein chips

1/8/2019
Safe + Fair Food, a company that focuses on creating products for those who struggle with food allergies, has unveiled its latest innovation — Pea Protein chips.

The gluten-free, protein-packed chips are free from five of the top eight allergens, and are made with pea protein and lentil flour, the company said.

"Consumers are showing greater interest in plant-based food and are actively seeking protein-rich snack options in this category," Will Holsworth, CEO of Safe + Fair Food, said. "Our goal is to create products that cater to this growing consumer demand while meeting the needs of the food allergy community."

In addition, the chips contain 9 to 10 g of protein and come in three flavors — hickory bbq, sea salt and sweet jalapeno.

The line also is certified gluten-free, Non-GMO, kosher, cholesterol-free, vegetarian, and free from artificial preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, MSG and trans-fat, the company said.

Safe + Fair Food’s Pea Protein chips are now available for purchase online in a 3.5-oz. bag that can be purchased separately for $3.49, or part of a bundle with one of each flavor for $9.99.

The brand also donates 3% of its proceeds to the Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research at Stanford University to help find treatments and develop cures for people with food allergies.
