Seventh Generation, Maya Rudolph make a case for recycled toilet paper

3/21/2019
Seventh Generation is bringing a new campaign to light that highlights how if households in the United States replaced packs of sheet virgin toilet paper with recycled toilet paper, more than 740,000 trees could be saved.

With the help of Maya Rudolph and a new character — Mike the Tree, the Burlington, Vt.-based company raises awareness on the issue with a musical ad that features an original song from Rudolph about the brand’s 100% Recycled Paper Bath Tissue.

"Recent research shows that Americans are quite literally flushing forests away with the use of virgin toilet paper," Seventh Generation CEO, Joey Bergstein said. "We're here to show people that small changes can have a big impact. This campaign is not just about toilet paper, but about the mission we've had since day one to protect our natural resources for the next generations."

Seventh Generation’s 100% Recycled Paper Bath Tissue has an extra song hold, is 2-ply and whitened without chlorine bleach. In addition, the paper towels are made without the use of added dyes, inks or fragrances, the company said.

The brand also is encouraging users to continue the conversation by following Mike the Tree on social media and learning more about the benefits of switching to recycled paper products.
