Spoetzl Brewery is adding to its portfolio.
The Shiner, Texas-based company announced the launch of its new limited-edition Fresh Hop IPA, which is made with premium Amarillo hops harvested at the Crosby Hop Farm in Woodburn, Ore.
Each of the hand-selected hops was monitored throughout harvest, cut from the bine at the peak of freshness and placed in brew kettles for a 36-hour non-stop process, the company said.
"For decades Shiner has produced award-winning classic and new-style beer offerings, reserving some of the finest seasonal and specialty releases for the quarterly Brewer's Pride series," said Jimmy Mauric, Shiner' master brewer. "We're incredibly proud of the talented team that tirelessly worked to achieve Shiner Fresh Hop IPA. While an unusual style for a Texas-based brewery, the team worked with precision and speed to deliver a superior, uber-fresh beer that I personally am thrilled to share with Texas and beyond."
Shiner Fresh Hop IPA contains a refreshing taste with a 65 IBU, 6.8% ABV and aromatic notes of apricot, peach and citrus.
The limited-edition beverage will hit shelves in October in 12-oz. and 24-oz. bottles, and retail for $10.99 for a six pack of 12-oz. bottles.
