WHAT’S HOT: Bottled water companies adopt eco-friendly causes

In response to growing sensitivity to clean water and earth issues, more and more bottled water companies and distributors are taking measures to reduce waste and promote water sustainability.

Just in time for Earth Day, Evian Natural Spring Water announced its support for the development of sustainable water systems globally by naming the Evian Water Protection Institute in April. The Evian Water Protection Institute, along with the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, introduced recycled plastic (r-PET) to the production of Evian water bottles and launched a team effort with RecycleBank to encourage people to recycle plastic water bottles.

The Evian Water Protection Institute’s goals include supporting and protecting wetland areas, promoting wellness of local communities and access to resources, developing information on water resource management and promoting community activism on water issues.
