There’s a new way to enjoy frozen Greek yogurt bars.
Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt is introducing consumers to its new snack-sized line — Snack Buddies.
The line’s products contain only 45-to-50 calories per serving and have live and active cultures, the Quincy, Mass.-based company said.
"As we did back in 2011 when we launched Yasso, we again identified an opportunity in the category to meet consumers' needs. The current novelty options available, and marketed towards kids, are largely water based, packed with sugar and filled with artificial flavors and sweeteners," Amanda Klane, Yasso co-founder and co-CEO, said. "Snack Buddies exists to fill that void and deliver an option for parents seeking healthier snacks for their children that can be enjoyed by the whole family."
Made without high fructose corn syrup or high-intensity sweeteners, the Snack Buddies line will feature:
- Mint Cookie Chums, which pairs frozen mint chocolate-flavored Greek yogurt with chocolate cookie pieces;
- Strawbuddy Lemonade, which channels both sweet and sour flavors with a strawberry lemonade Greek yogurt;
- Fudge Space Chip, which has fudge chocolate frozen Greek yogurt and chocolate chips; and
- Party Animal, which mixes together frozen cake-flavored Greek yogurt and rainbow sprinkles.
"No one knows snack time better than we do," Drew Harrington, Yasso co-founder and co-CEO, said. "Amanda and I met in our kindergarten classroom during snack time, and that friendship throughout the years ultimately led us to launch Yasso. We know when a snack delivers on great taste and nutrition, it deserves to be celebrated and shared. In addition to celebrating the Snack Buddies launch, Yasso is looking to consumers to create a new flavor to add to the line’s portfolio through a contest, with instructions on how to submit ideas found on the snack’s wrappers.
