Cheetos gets cheesier with mac ‘n cheese offering
Cheetos are about to get a whole lot cheesier.
The latest innovation from the brand shaking up the snack game is Cheetos Mac ‘n Cheese.
Created to deliver the bold and intense flavors Cheetos has become known for, Cheetos Mac ‘n Cheese is available in three flavors — bold and cheesy, flamin’ hot and cheesy jalapeño.
“We've seen incredible culinary creativity from our Cheetos fans through the years, taking our product and using as an actual ingredient in recipes — whether at restaurants, or now more than ever, at home,” Rachel Ferdinando, senior vice president, CMO at Frito-Lay North America said. “Cheetos Mac 'n Cheese borrows that culinary inspiration to provide a mischievous mashup of an ordinary fan favorite. We're putting our orange-dusted fingerprints on an at-home staple at a time when home mealtime occasions are on the rise.”
Made with the brand’s top-secret seasoning and corkscrew pasta noodles inspired by mascot Chester Cheetah’s tail, the mashup is a creation of both divisions of PepsiCo Foods North America, Frito-Lay North America and Quaker Foods North America, which manages the Pasta Roni brand, the Plano, Texas-based company said.
“This one-of-a-kind innovation leverages the strength of our brands to hack into a household staple and take it to the next level with unique flavor experiences only Cheetos can provide,” Kristin Kroepfl, vice president, CMO at Quaker Foods North America said. “We look forward to bringing our passionate consumers the same Cheetos taste in a brand new way.”
Cheetos Mac ‘n Cheese will be available in a single box and cup format exclusively at Walmart beginning Aug. 8. It will roll out to additional retailers nationwide in 2021.
