CHPA to host virtual Self-Care Leadership Series and Summit

The Consumer Healthcare Products Association’s Self-Care Leadership Series and Summit will include virtual events throughout March, April and May, and will culminate in a hybrid in-person and virtual Leadership Summit in June.

The Consumer Healthcare Products Association is set to hold its first virtual Self-Care Leadership Series and Summit, or SLS. with events in March, April and May. The programming will culminate in the CHPA Leadership Summit— a hybrid virtual and in-person event slated for June 16.

The first event as part of SLS will be a March 22 conversation with former Food and Drug Administration commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb, moderated by CHPA’s Scott Melville and 3D Communications’ Cindy DiBlasi. Gottlieb will discuss how companies can work with the FDA to enable growth and disruption, particularly around dietary supplement regulation and Rx-to-OTC switches.

“While we have traditionally gathered in person each March for our Annual Executive Conference, we’re excited to provide members and the larger consumer healthcare community with the same relevant and timely educational programming in a new format,” said Beth Allgaier, senior vice president of business development and industry relations, CHPA. “CHPA’s new annual Self-Care Leadership Series and Summit builds on the great tradition of the AEC and provides a platform for our distinguished speakers to discuss trends and hot topics facing the industry. We hope next year’s SLS will be in-person, but we’re confident that this year’s primarily virtual programming will not disappoint.”

Also on the slate for SLS programming is an April 7 discussion between IRI’s Kristin Hornberger and Robert Sanders Jr., who will present their “State of the Industry: A Look Back and Forward.” April also will see the “Adaptive Leadership for Today’s World” session, in which Korn Ferry’s Kevin Cashman will provide tools and practices for focused problem solving on April 20. One May 24, there will be a virtual panel discussion, “Being the Change We Seek: An Industry on the Move,” in which panelists — including speaker and author Heather McGee — will discuss diversity, equity and inclusion.

The main event of the Self-Care Leadership Series and Summit will be the June 16 Leadership Summit. The hybrid event will include a meeting of CHPA’s board of directors, a leadership address and board chair transition, and a presentation of the Ivan D. Combe Lifetime Achievement Award. With in-person attendance limited, CHPA is allowing attendees to join virtually via a livestream.
