Chris Skyers joins Market Performance Group

Skyers will lead all aspects of the grocery channel, supporting high level strategic planning and management of a high-performing, dynamic team.

Market Performance Group, a leading end-to-end CPG strategy and services company, is welcoming former ShopRite executive Chris Skyers as executive vice president, grocery channel, effective immediately.

Skyers will have wide-ranging responsibilities, leading all aspects of the grocery channel, as well as supporting high level strategic planning and management of a high-performing, dynamic team to further enhance service to MPG customers within this important channel.

His role will be critical to building and sustaining extraordinary customer relationships at all levels, especially senior levels, and he will provide leadership in the development of company sales and marketing solutions, long- and short-term market channel strategies, and ongoing customer solutions that deliver positive impact.

At Wakefern, Skyers led high-impact teams and strategies for banner brands, including Shoprite, Price Rite, The Fresh Grocer and Dearborn Market. Most recently, he served as vice president of Own Brands — the company’s portfolio of private label brands. Assuming this role in 2018, Skyers spearheaded the successful overhaul of ShopRite private label through the creation of two completely new and proprietary brands, Basket Bowl and Paperbird.

Additionally, his team led the reinvention of the organizations better-for-you brand, Wholesome Pantry. It is through Skyers unyielding focus on the consumer that he led the team to grow this business by more than $2.7 billion in sales.

A highly recognized industry thought leader, Skyers also had roles as vice president of health and beauty, as well as vice president of corporate merchandising and marketing.
