CRN adds 4 new member companies

The Council for Responsible Nutrition has added four companies to its membership roster. The dietary supplement and functional food trade association now includes Genesee Nutrition, Hilma and Natures Crops International as voting members, as well as Faegre Baker Daniels as an associate member.

Genesee Nutrition is a Colorado-based CBD health-and-wellness company offering sports nutrition products containing CBD, including protein powders and bars. Hilma, a venture capital-backed company, focuses on herbal remedies, with plans to launch in January 2020 with the aim of making herbals more accessible to mainstream consumers. Natures Crops International is a vertically integrated natural products ingredient business that manufactures a range of specialty oils, contracts specialty crops with international farmers and develops regenerative and risk-mitigated supply chains.

The organization’s new voting member, Faegre Baker Daniels, is a full-service producer offering food litigation and regulatory practice. The company teams ups with food and supplement companies to devices tactical business solutions, build supply chain relationships and launch new products.

The new members follow a recent addition to CRN’s government relations staff. The organization added Julia Gustafson as vice president of government relations at the end of October, leading CRN’s federal and state legislative and strategic policy initiatives, reporting to president and CEO Steve Mister. She joined the company from the Corn Refiners Association, where she led development of its agenda and advocated it to Congress.
