Dollar General invests additional $25M in employee bonuses
Dollar General is making an additional investment in its employees.
The Goodlettsville, Tenn.-based retailer is allocating $25 million to support employee bonuses for those in its retail, distribution and fleet sectors as they continue to work amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
In total, Dollar General has invested approximately $60 million in employee appreciation bonuses during these difficult times, the company said.
“We are proud to provide this additional $25 million investment that reflects our gratitude and appreciation for our teams’ continued efforts to serve our customers,” Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s CEO said. “We understand the work our teams are doing every day makes a real difference in the lives of our neighbors and communities who depend on us to provide a reliable, affordable and nearby shopping experience. Our employees continue to demonstrate the strength of our mission of Serving Others and remain united every day to serve our customers.”
Full and part-time employees will receive the bonus, and also be provided with facial coverings and disposable gloves to those who choose or are required by local governments to wear them, the company said.
In addition, Dollar General is making a $250,000 donation to its Employee Assistance Foundation, which provides financial assistance to employees during specified times of need.
