Dr. Reddy’s launches generic Cuprimine
Dr. Reddy’s is introducing its generic of Bausch Health’s Cuprimine (penicillamine capsules). The company’s product is available in 250-mg capsules that have previously been approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
The drug, which is indicated to treat rheumatoid arthritis, Wilson’s Disease and cystinuria, which causes kidney stones. Dr. Reddy’s generic will be sold in 100-count bottles.
For the year ended June 2020, the Cuprimine brand and generic equivalents had a 12-month market value of $80 million, according to IQVIA data.
