DSNTV: Elsevier’s Stewart discusses importance of accurate pharmacy data

At the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Total Store Expo, Drug Store News connected with Ken Stewart, clinical executive with Elsevier, on the show floor. Stewart discussed an approach to data that allows pharmacies to reevaluate their IT approach. He noted that Elsevier offers supplemental data sources that can help improve accuracy to enable adaptiveness.

With Elsevier’s Gold Standard Drug Database, the company updates drug pricing information and drug clinical information daily and publishes it every day to its customers — even on holidays and weekends. Stewart noted that this is particularly important, as 21% of all price changes occurred on a weekend.

“Our opportunity at Elsevier is to help our customers maximize their data capabilities to meet their unique business needs,” Stewart said.
