FDA approves Zydus’ generic Clobex lotion

The Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic of Clobex lotion (Clobetasol propionate lotion 0.05%) from Zydus Cadila. 

The topical product is indicated to treat such skin conditions as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, allergies and rash, reducing swelling, itching and redness that results from such conditions. 

Zydus said its generic Clobex lotion would be manufactured at its topical facility in Ahmedabad, India. The company currently has more than 272 drugs approved and has filed more than 360 abbreviated new drug applications since it began filing in fiscal year 2003-04.
