Halo Top revamps its dairy-free desserts
Plant-based foodies rejoice, Halo Top is unveiling a new collection of dairy-free desserts that deliver a smooth and creamy texture and flavor-forward taste, the Le Mars, Iowa-based company said.
Starting with a coconut milk base, the brand’s Dairy-Free series now contains fava bean protein, which helps the desserts maintain a soft texture and creamy base.
“As a leader in the better-for-you category, Halo Top is always looking for new ways to innovate and bring forward quality products our consumers will love,” Shilpa Gadhok, senior brand manager at Halo Top, said. “With our Dairy-Free line, we replaced brown rice protein with fava bean protein for a creamier texture that's packed with flavor. Plant-based demand is higher than ever, and we want to provide our fans with an offering they feel great about eating — so they don't have to choose between pursuing a plant-based lifestyle and enjoying dessert.”
Each pint of the Vegan Action-certified line contains 280 to 360 calories per serving and 10 g to 20 g of protein, as well. Flavors in the collection include:
- Birthday Cake, with a birthday cake-flavor base that contains festive rainbow sprinkles;
- Candy Bar, with a chocolate nougat frozen dessert base, roasted peanuts and swirls of sweet and salty caramel;
- Chocolate, which features the classic flavors of chocolate minus the dairy and soy;
- Chocolate Almond Crunch, with a chocolate base and nutty almond pieces throughout;
- Chocolate Chip Cooke Dough, with dairy and soy-free chocolate chip cookie dough chunks;
- Peanut Butter Cup, with a peanut butter and chocolate dessert base; and
- Sea Salt Caramel, with a salted caramel dessert base.
The new and improved Halo Top Dairy-Free pints, which retail for $5.49 each, will roll out in September and October.
