Heirloom Pet Products intros water-soluble hemp food toppers
Heirloom Pet Products is looking to help pet parents with finicky fur babies.
The Richmond, Va.-based company is rolling out a collection of food toppers that have been designed to improve the taste of food for pets, as well as deliver a dose of water-soluble hemp.
“The word ‘heirloom’ evokes images of sacred family recipes like your grandmother's go-to chicken soup or your great aunt's cookies that made every visit a treat. We married that sensibility with modern technology — and a hefty dash of love — to create products that put your pet's best paw forward,” Jason Lysak, CEO of Heirloom Pet Products said. “Along our journey to develop the Heirloom product line we talked about hemp to pet parents across the country. Two things stood out — there has to be a better way to administer hemp extract and it has to start working faster.”
The new additions to the brand’s portfolio include:
- Zen Puppy, which contains 150 mg of water-soluble broad-spectrum hemp, peanut butter and banana flavors, and approximately 30 servings;
- Whine Not, which also has 150 mg of water-soluble broad-spectrum hemp, 30 servings, and flavors of bacon and cheddar; and
- Ruff and Ready, which features 150 mg of water-soluble broad-spectrum hemp, 30 servings, chicken flavor and turmeric to help with bone and joint health.
“Cats’ and dogs’ bodies are made up of 60-80 percent water. Hemp is an oil, so many products that deliver hemp in an oil format have limited absorption, which means less bioavailability,” Lysak said. “By using a water-soluble product, we ensure the maximum bioavailability, which means Heirloom Pet Products work faster and are more effective.”
Heirloom Pet Products are both GMP and SQF certified, and the brand also has been working with the National Animal Supplement Council to make sure labels are clear and in compliance with guidelines.
The brand’s products can currently be found at heirloompets.com and will be expanding to nationwide throughout the summer.
