HHS assistant secretary for health gets flu vaccine at Harris Teeter
Department of Health and Human Services assistant secretary for health Admiral Brett Giroir received his flu vaccination on Monday at a Washington, D.C., Harris Teeter pharmacy.
Giroir thanked community pharmacists and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores for their efforts to provide vaccines safely amid the pandemic. In his Twitter post, Giroir said, “Today, I joined the other #flufighters and got my #flushot at my neighborhood pharmacy - @HarrisTeeter! Thank you @HarrisTeeter, @NACDS, and all community pharmacists providing #fluvaccine safely during the #COVID19 pandemic. This year because of #COVID19, getting your #flushot is even more critical. Getting a flu vaccine not only protects you, but those around you who may be more vulnerable to potentially serious flu complications.”
NACDS is waging a communications campaign to complement the extensive work of NACDS member companies to raise awareness of the flu vaccination’s importance, particularly to help prevent a two-front war against flu and COVID-19. NACDS’ campaign includes ads and collaboration with more than 70 entities and counting.
