A longtime Walgreens executive is joining Market Performance Group to help support the company’s business development efforts for the retailer. Michelle Hobson, most recently Walgreens’ senior manager of beauty program development, joined MPG this month as director of sales after 19 years with Walgreens.
Hobson’s most recent duties included the recruitment and training of Walgreens 75 regional beauty leaders and the retailer’s store-level beauty consultants. Earlier positions held by Hobson included innovation merchandising and format development roles, in which she oversaw the launch of hundreds of beauty destination departments. She also managed strategic business development in beauty and led the cosmetics category.
MPG touted Hobson’s experience and her reputation for strategic thinking and creating customer-centric programs that build brand equity, share and incremental sales.
“Michelle has worked with dozens of supplier partners over the years to create and deploy programs and resources that support their key products/brands/launches,” MPG said. “She is deeply passionate about cultivating win-win relationships across suppliers, retailers, and customers that together deliver best-in-class results.”
In addition to her time at Walgreens, Hobson spent time with American Drug Stores in various roles, including director of beauty care marketing.
