Lupin gets FDA blessing for generic Arava

Adults with active rheumatoid arthritis have a new generic treatment available. The Food and Drug Administration has given Lupin the green light for leflunomide tablets in dosage strengths of 10 mg and 20 mg.

The product is the generic of Sanofi-Aventis’ Arava tablets, 10 mg and 20 mg.

Lupin’s generic will be manufactured at Lupin’s Pithampur, India facility

Leflunomide tablets had a market value of approximately $44 million, according to December 2019 IQVIA data.
