Lupin launches generic Edecrin

Lupin is introducing ethacrynic acid tablets, in a dosage strength of 25 mg, after receiving Food and Drug Administration approval. 

The product, which will be manufactured at Lupin’s Nagpur OSD facility in India, is the generic of Bausch Health America’s Edecrin tablets, 25 mg and is indicated for the treatment of certain cases of edema.

Ethacrynic acid tablets had a market value of roughly $20 million, according to IQVIA December 2019 data.
