Lupin receives FDA nod for generic chlorpromazine hydrochloride

Lupin has received the Food and Drug Administration’s clearance for Chlorpromazine hydrochloride tablets 10 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg and 200 mg, which is the generic of Upsher-Smith’s Chlorpromazine hydrochloride.

Chlorpromazine hydrochloride is used to treat certain mental health disorders.

This product will be manufactured at Lupin’s Somerset, N.J. facility.

Chlorpromazine hydrochloride tablets had a market value of approximately $45 million, per IQVIA March 2023 data.
