After sharing news that it would once again host the LPGA Classic for its Simply Give program, Meijer is sharing even more details about the event.
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer announced that several top LPGA players, including defending champion Brooke Henderson, Lexi Thompson, Sei Young Kim and Mirim Lee will participate in the event.
Other players participating include Inbee Park, Nelly Korda, Jin Young Ko, Brittany Lincicome, Lydia Ko, Danielle Kang, Maria Fassi, Muni He, Leona Maguire, Jennifer Kupcho, Christina Kim, Stacy Lewis, Cristie Kerr and Laura Davies.
Overall, the Meijer LPGA Classic will host a full field of 144 of the best women golfers for 72 holes of stroke play over four days of competition, the company said.
“We’re excited to see so many familiar faces return to West Michigan for the tournament after a year apart,” Cathy Cooper, executive director of the Meijer LPGA Classic, said. “For most of the players, this will be their first time playing in Michigan since 2019, and we look forward to reminding them why they keep coming back — the spectators, the course and the cause.”
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the retailer’s Simply Give program, which helps restock the shelves of food pantries across the Midwest.
