Meijer will once again hold its LPGA Classic for Simply Give.
The retailer announced the return of the event, which supports its initiative to help feed hungry families.
“The Meijer LPGA Classic has become a summer tradition for numerous families and its cancellation last year was one of many necessary sacrifices our community made in the battle against COVID-19,” Meijer president and CEO Rick Keyes said. “We’re excited about its return this year, despite the changes, because it helps our food pantry partners through the Simply Give program.”
Taking place from June 17 to 20 at the Blythefield Country Club, the event will be open to the general public while also adhering to state guidelines and precautions due to the ongoing pandemic, the company said.
This year what is not being included in the event is the three-day Grand Taste food event, but limited seated concession areas on course with fare from local restaurants and breweries will be on hand.
“Despite these challenges, we remain committed to Simply Give and our food pantry partners who are working diligently each day to help a growing number of families in the communities we serve,” Cathy Cooper, the executive director of the Meijer LPGA Classic said. “Together, we can still make a difference.”
