With many colleges and universities starting classes in just a matter of weeks, Meijer is looking to help students vaccinated.

The retailer announced that it would be offering college students a $10 coupon to be used on any purchase after completing their COVID-19 vaccination process at one of its locations.

“Returning to campus is a huge and exciting step toward normalcy following the pandemic that disrupted so much of our lives. But to continue on that path, we encourage everyone who is able to receive the vaccine to take this important step,” Meijer president and CEO Rick Keyes said. “Our pharmacy teams have dedicated themselves to keeping our communities safe, but there’s more work to be done. We're hopeful this incentive makes a difference.”

Running until Sept. 30, student who wish to partake will need to have their first COVID-19 vaccine dose administered by Sept. 30 at any Meijer pharmacy. Once the vaccine series has been completed, students will receive a coupon, which will be redeemable in store for 28 days, the company said.

“We are highly encouraged by the continued commitment of those in the communities we serve to get vaccinated to protect themselves and those around them,” Jackie Morse, Meijer vice president of pharmacy said.
