In this role, Boutte will serve alongside other board members from academia, consumer groups, medical product and food industries, as well as healthcare and other disciplines shaping healthcare delivery.
The Reagan-Udall Foundation for the FDA was created by Congress in 2007 to advance the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s mission to modernize product development, accelerate innovation and enhance product safety.
“I am extremely excited and very honored to have the opportunity to serve on the Board of the Reagan-Udall Foundation,” Boutte said. “As more pharmacists are empowered to practice at the top of their education and to provide valuable healthcare services to patients in every corner of the country, more opportunities arise to partner on important initiatives that will increase and improve patient health outcomes. The Reagan-Udall Foundation’s mission is to accelerate innovation and to enhance patient engagement and education. I look forward to helping create change that will ultimately do just that.”
Specifically, the Reagan-Udall Foundation works to improve public health and safety through stakeholder engagement and public-private partnerships that facilitate innovation, foster the use of real-world evidence and identify modern tools and policies to keep pace with today’s rapidly evolving science.
“We are thrilled to announce that Christie has been named to the Board of Directors for the Reagan-Udall Foundation for the FDA,” said NACDS president and CEO Steve Anderson. “During her time at NACDS and throughout her career, Christie has been dedicated — first and foremost — to promoting the health and wellbeing of patients and communities. Science and innovation have proven critical as the nation continues its efforts to combat COVID-19 and to vaccinate America — and the FDA has played a tremendous role throughout in ensuring the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccines, treatments and therapies that pharmacists and other healthcare providers continue to provide to individuals and communities."
Anderson went on to say, “Christie will bring extensive knowledge and experience to her new, appointed role at an organization which, like Christie, is committed to advancing and protecting public health. We congratulate Christie on her prestigious position with the Reagan-Udall Foundation.”
