The National Association of Chain Drugstores is touting several of its latest health and wellness innovations, including its Nourish My Health Public Education Campaign.

Social media influencers Erin Chase (@5dollardinners) and Catherine Perez, MS, RD, LDN (@plantbasedrd) teamed up this summer with the NACDS Nourish My Health initiative to help educate their audiences about the importance of eating healthy, nutritious meals.

In June, NACDS honored Men’s Health Month. As part of the annual observance, NACDS released a series of social posts showcasing NACDS member pharmacies’ efforts throughout the month and every day to advance men’s health and to encourage men and boys to be proactive in their health.

NACDS also released digital content for Women’s Health Month, American Heart Month, and National Diabetes Month

The newly released content creator videos and digital content complement the broader Nourish My Health public education campaign, part of a commitment by NACDS to the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health and a collaboration with leading health organizations. To date, “Nourish My Health” has achieved nearly 180 million impressions, reaching Americans across the country, including those who live in rural areas and underserved communities and focusing on regions with disproportionate risk of diet-related diseases.

NACDS noted that 85% of adults in the U.S. say pharmacists are easy to access and 73% support pharmacists helping patients prevent chronic disease such as heart disease and diabetes.

In June, the Milken Institute released a bold new Action Plan – “Catalyzing Action for Pharmacist-Provided Food Is Medicine Care” — establishing the vital role of the pharmacy in advancing Food Is Medicine, and the actionable steps that public and private stakeholders should take to leverage pharmacist-provided FIM care to effectively address nutrition, hunger and health.

NACDS also supported the Milken Institute’s independent work on the report.

“Catalyzing Action for Pharmacist-Provided Food Is Medicine Care” comes as part of NACDS’ commitment to the White House Challenge to End Hunger and Build Healthy Communities (the Challenge), which the Association jointly submitted with the Milken Institute in March 2023 and which was subsequently announced in February 2024.

NACDS continues to boost the focus on the importance of data-sharing to unleash pharmacist-provided services.
